I underestimated how nervous I would be having not ridden a bike since I was a kid, but with Larnach Castle and the Otago Peninsula as my backdrop (and a group of clients I was trying to impress watching me) I couldn't wait to give these electric bikes a go.

The bikes are push pedal but have electric motors on the front wheel which, once switched on, allow the user to ride with minimal effort. A dream result for those that want to keep up with the Joneses but don't want to break a sweat doing so.

It was a great way to explore the gardens at Larnach Castle, as well as explore the area down to Pukehiki and Sandfly Bay.

It was an amazing day, with an amazing backdrop and I can't recommend this enough for family, friends or to impress clients and show off our city. And its cheap as chips!!!

The Otago Peninsula is definitely rated by Lonely Planet as one of the top ten cycle trips in the world for a reason!
