Dunedin Polar Plunge
It is that time of the year again where St Clair Surf Life Saving Club host their annual Polar Plunge. Thousands brave the cold winter conditions and come to St Clair Esplanade to Polar Plunge. For the not so brave, it is a perfect event to watch, laugh and support the many that do.
This is a great event that is proudly supported by 97.4 More FM. The 86th Polar Plunge is kicking off on Sunday the 15th of June at midday. It will be a big weekend for Dunedin as this year's event is taking place the day after the All Blacks play England at Forsyth Barr Stadium. A perfect event for those wanting to cool off after test fever has hit town.
There is an open invitation to all England supporters to join the locals for some Polar Plunge fun. It is recommended that you support your nation and go Black or Union Jack.
For all those brave enough to enter the water the Fire Service warm water fire truck will be there to heat you up. Also a variety of hot food will be available from Marlow pies and Bush Road soup.
St Clair Esplanade is a vibrant and beautiful location cherished by locals and is a must see for all tourists sightseeing in Dunedin. With stunning views and cafes, the backdrop for the Polar Plunge will create a lasting memory for any visitor.
As mentioned earlier, the St Clair Surf Life Saving Polar Plunge is proudly supported by 97.4 More FM. All money raised through gold coin donations on the day goes to the St Clair Surf Life Saving Club.
