Jessica Crothall is exhibiting her latest series of acrylic and watercolour paintings. Post Implosion will be shown at Mint Gallery between 3 - 23 October.
These works are part of a series that the artist has been working on since the 2011 Canterbury earthquakes. One of the paintings was directly inspired by a series of photographs taken of a high rise building that was demolished through a series of controlled explosions. The images show the building falling, then rising up again. This references death and resurrection, as well as continuing the themes of order and chaos, destruction and new life.
As well as the opening on 3rd October there are four artist floor talks:
Saturday 11:00 am - 4th October, 11th October, 18th October
Friday 12 noon - 10th October
32 Moray Place
