by Insiders Dunedin

We asked the Dunedin community what their favourite family friendly cafes are in Dunedin. The response was great and there was a wide variety of cafes voted. However, on collating the votes there were a few cafes that stood out from the rest. People had various ideas on why they were the best family friendly cafes. Comments included the likes of service, quality, places for the kids to play, amenities to help care for their kids and of course those who provide great treats!

Despite this a clear winner emerged with votes clearly outweighing the rest...

Taking the top spot as voted by the community goes to The Good Oil cafe. Obviously a crowd favourite known for its great coffee and service. Located in the heart of town 314 George Street.

Tied for second was the Starfish Cafe & Bar out at St Clair by the beach and the new Cadbury Cafe on Cumberland Street. Starfish known for its great access to the kids playground across the road and the Cadbury Cafe for its staff and yummy food!

Starfish Cafe & Bar - 7/240 Forbury Road

Cadbury Cafe - 280 Cumberland Street

It was also an impossible task to separate 4th and 5th place as we had four cafes tied. The Perc Cafe, The Topiary Cafe at Wal's Plantland, Nova and Cafe LOL

The Perc Cafe - 142 Stuart Street

The Topiary Cafe at Wal's Plantland - Bush Road, Mosgiel

Nova - The Octagon

Cafe LOL - 211 George Street
