IN THE COMPANY OF STRANGERS...
On Friday 22nd of January, Dunedin became home to the flagship Company Of Strangers store. Established by local designer, Sara Aspinall in 2008, Company Of Strangers has already become one of New Zealand’s most coveted fashion and accessories labels. It’s incredibly exciting Sara decided to open her first store here in Dunedin, no doubt she could have opened anywhere in New Zealand…so we’re pretty damn lucky!
Store manager and Development Marketing, Katy Cameron said the opening of the store was a “natural progression” for the label and that she’s delighted to be a part of it.
“I am so excited to be working alongside Sara. I always knew great things were going to come of the brand and was really flattered when I was approached to be a part of it,” she said
Unfortunately I couldn’t make it to the official opening, however I popped into the store last week and have to say it’s pretty awesome. It’s small and intimate, with the Persian rug, artwork, books, candles and cute taxidermied animals giving it a homely atmosphere. The store currently stocks Company Of Strangers clothing, accessories and jewellery, Strange Love, Wellington-based label, Otsu, George and Edi scented candles and Taschen fashion, design and art books. Later this year they will also be stocking jewellery from Underground Sundae and Zora Boyd, French label Equipment, as well as other quality brands.
Company of Strangers is open Monday-Friday 10am-5pm and Saturday 10am-5pm. Ph 03 4718969. 320 George St, Dunedin.
