VINTAGE DRESSES FOR THE MODERN WOMAN

by Insiders Dunedin

If anyone knows about vintage style, its Sharon Bratton of The Vintage Dress Company. Sharon spent several years as an international flight attendant, giving her the unique opportunity to regularly explore vintage stores and keep up-to-date with the latest fashion trends. In September 2012 Sharon decided to launch her online vintage clothing store, although she had been selling to private clients and in pop-up stores throughout Dunedin, for two years prior. Sharon travels to Hong-Kong each year to handpick her dresses, which she ensures are in pristine condition, made from high quality fabrics and beautifully detailed. The dresses are predominately from the oh-so-chic 1950s, with Sharon explaining she finds woman enjoy wearing clothing from another generation.

“I think women love wearing something that has had 'another life', they know there are not two of them, and they flatter your figure. They are also very expressive, and can be worn with modern accessories to create a very fashion forward look”.

Here's an amazing shoot featuring The Vintage Dress Company dresses...
